Tower Road Welly Trail
Children, staff and parents from Tower Primary School helped the Tower Road Residents Association (TRRA) to plant over 100 wellies which have been hung up on the school railings to brighten up the local area. After school, they were joined by local residents, Councillors and other local organisations to plant up the remaining donated wellies. The TRRA – who organised the event in conjunction with Ware In Bloom, EHDC, Network Homes and the CVS – were extremely pleased with the turn out and the impact made by the planting. Several parents commented that they liked the idea so much that they were going home to plant up old wellies to brighten up doorsteps, balconies and gardens. One pupil said that ‘this was the best day ever’.
