Presdales Pitch

Ware Town Council supports local sports with grant for new 3G pitch at Presdales School

Ware Town Council continue to award grant funding to local groups and organisations. We recently awarded Presdales School a grant towards the building of a 97m x 61m Community 3G Artificial Grass Pitch.

Funding 20% of the £1m project itself, Presdales School required grant support for the remainder. Understanding the importance of this project Ware Town Council were one of three early grant providers who together provided £37,000 of funding.  This support for the project strengthened Presdales funding application to the Football Foundation which resulted in the award of a £824,000 grant from the Premier League, the FA and the Government via the Football Foundation. This grant enabled the school to build the pitch to help provide an excellent facility to boost women’s and girls’ football in the area.

The pitch is the first of 30 set to benefit from the Lionesses Futures Fund –  part of a £30 million cash injection from the Government and the FA delivered by the Football Foundation. The pitches celebrate the Lionesses roaring to victory at the 2022 UEFA EUROs and their achievement of making the final at FIFA World Cup 2023 and will help meet the growing demand for women’s and girls’ football.

Local club Bury Rangers Women and Girls’ teams are a key partner in the pitch and, with a Community Use Agreement in place, pitch time will be available to local clubs and organisations in the new year although pleasingly Presdales advises that spaces are in high demand. Enquiries should be made in the first instance, to the School Business Manager using the email [email protected].
