Free Tickets for Ware's Week-Long Film Festival Are Going Fast!

Tickets for the week-long film festival are proving popular with film fans. The event sees 9 films spanning various genres, screened across 6 venues in Ware from the 27th of October to the 3rd of November. All movies are free to attend and feature family favourites and cult classics including a Halloween special. (See the poster below for times and dates). The programme includes:
VINDICATION SWIM (PG) at Fletcher’s Lea on Sunday, 27th October – The inspirational story of Mercedes Gleitze, the first British woman to swim the English Channel and her battle against both the cold waters of the Channel and the oppressive society of 1920s England.

IF (U) at Fletcher’s Lea on Monday, 28th October – A young girl who goes through a difficult experience begins to see everyones imaginary friends who have been left behind as their real-life friends have grown up. – SOLD OUT

PERFECT DAYS (PG) at Fletcher’s Lea on Monday, 28th October – Hirayama cleans public toilets in Tokyo, lives his life in simplicity and daily tranquility. Some encounters also lead him to reflect on himself.

THE KEEPER (15) Rose & Crown on Tuesday, 29th October – The love story of a young English woman and a German PoW, who together overcome prejudice, public hostility and personal tragedy. – SOLD OUT.

WICKED LITTLE LETTERS (15) at Southern Maltings on Wednesday, 30th October – When people in Littlehampton–including conservative local, Edith-begin receiving letters full of hilarious profanities, the rowdy, Irish migrant, Rose, is charged with the crime. Suspecting that something is amiss, the town’s women investigate. – SOLD OUT

FROM DUSK TILL DAWN (18) – at The Saracens Head on Halloween, Thursday, 31st October – Two criminals and their hostages unknowingly seek temporary refuge in a truck stop populated by vampires, with chaotic results. – SOLD OUT
BACK TO BLACK (15) – at Fletcher’s Lea on Friday, 1st November -The life and music of Amy Winehouse, through the journey of adolescence to adulthood and the creation of one of the best-selling albums of our time.

WHAT WE DID ON OUR HOLIDAY (12A) – at Allenburys on Saturday, 2nd November A family of five heads to Granddad’s big 75th-birthday party at an uncle’s estate in rural Scotland. The parents are separated and hope their three kids won’t mention it. The kids love, can talk with, and would do anything for Granddad.

LIVING (12A) – at Place House on Sunday, 3rd November In 1950s London, a humorless bureaucrat decides to take time off work to experience life after receiving a grim diagnosis.
