Introducing Councillor Thomas Day
I am from Hertford originally but have lived in Ware for around nine years with my husband Tom. We moved into Trinity ward over seven years ago.
My background is in interior design for retail and hospitality but, after being made redundant during the first lockdown, I decided to pursue my passion for food and drink by opening a delicatessen on Ware High Street. It’s still very early days but the reception from the town has been fantastic – clearly its residents love food and drink as much as Tom and I do!
As well as serving the interests of my neighbours in Trinity ward, I am keen to contribute in any way I can to the town’s post-pandemic recovery. It is my belief that the events of the past year have provided an opportunity to create a bit of a renaissance for the town centre by supporting and promoting its fantastic independent businesses (of which I am now proud to be one), as well as its vibrant night-time and cultural economies.
