Hard Truths

As part of our Wellness Programme, Ware Town Council is offering a free screening of Hard Truths, directed by Mike Leigh. Set in London, the film follows the struggles of a woman (Marianne Jean-Baptiste), who battles depression and a generally pessimistic outlook, and her relationship with her upbeat and lively sister, Chantelle (Michele Austin). Although often comedic and uplifting, Hard Truths delves into the deeper themes of anxiety and depression, exploring how these issues can shape and manifest in a person’s life. The film has been described as both outrageous and heartbreaking, showcasing the craft of a masterful director.
