Councillor Barney Bryant
I studied at Ware College at the very start of my career, and around 20 years ago I felt drawn back to settle down and call Ware home. Both my children attended Kingshill, St Mary’s and Chauncy schools. I now run my own design and food photography business, often hotdesking on the high street and supporting our fantastic local cafe’s and pubs. I also try to support our independent shops, and go to quite absurd lengths to avoid buying anything packed in (or made of) plastic. I feel community and connection offer more joy and happiness than consumerism. I cycle wherever I can, out into the stunning local countryside or along the Lea, and want to help preserve our local green spaces and vital food-growing farmland for future generations. In my spare time I enjoy searching muddy fields for small bits of ancient metal, always learning a little more about our fascinating local history. I have also become a trustee of Ware Museum where my nerdy knowledge might be of some use!
